Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics
Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics (SIG) is one of the younger members of the Symbiosis Group, India's symbol of educational excellence for 30 years. It was established in August 2004.All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) had accorded its approval to the course curriculum of SIG in May 2006.
SIG is now a constituent member of Symbiosis International University established under section 3 of the UGC ACT 1956, by notification No. F 9-12/2006 U.3(A) of Government of India with effect from 10.11.2006.
SIG opens up virtually limitless potential for successful careers in the Corporate Sector through a range of exciting applications of Geo-spatial technology. In the modern world, with dawn of every passing day in this era of globalization, Geoinformatics is finding a burgeoning market through wide ranging applications in diverse fields of the Corporate Sector.
The two years M Sc Programme of SIG aims to train and empower professionals for analytical decision making; and to meet the high demand for skilled manpower in challenging fields; such as, utility enhancement, eco-monitoring, town planning, resource management and e-governance, just to name a few.
