The Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG) – Pune chapter is actively engaged in promoting the geomatics technology and its application among professionals, researchers, students, academicians etc.

ISG-Pune chapter in association with Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS), jointly with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics (SIG) is organizing an event on New trends in GIS with special reference to 'Mobile GIS' on 28 January 2012.

A corporate training on GIS was organized by SIG on 7th and 8th January 2012 for executives of MWH. MWH is a multinational company and a global leader in wet infrastructure, planning, design, construction and management services projects. It has offices operating in six continents. Twenty participants from engineering background attended this workshop which focused on GIS applications and utility management.

Ms. Andrie Singh student of Batch 2011-13 M.Sc Geoinformatics has been awarded UGC Merit Scholarship of Rs 2000/- per month and lump sum of Rs 1, 00, 000/- on completion of her PG degree and for her outstanding performance at undergraduate Physics Honors Examination. Ms. Andrie Singh is a Gold medalist in B.Sc (Physics) from Patna University.
